Indicator: B7.2.3.1.1 - Explain the importance of electronic spreadsheet

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define an electronic spreadsheet in their own words and give at least one everyday example of information that can be stored in one.
  2. State at least four benefits of using an electronic spreadsheet compared to working with paper records.
  3. Identify at least three common electronic spreadsheet software packages and name one feature of each.
  4. Explain, using a simple example, how an electronic spreadsheet can save time and reduce errors in calculations.
  5. Distinguish between situations where a spreadsheet is useful and situations where simpler tools like a notebook would be more appropriate.
