Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.2.1.1.2 - Demonstrate how to insert, select, delete and move text

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify the cursor, insertion point and editing tools in the Microsoft Word window.
  2. Demonstrate how to insert text at any point in a document by clicking to set the insertion point.
  3. Demonstrate how to select text using the mouse (click and drag) and the keyboard (Shift + arrow keys).
  4. Demonstrate how to delete text using the Backspace and Delete keys, and explain the difference between the two.
  5. Demonstrate how to move text within a document using the cut and paste method, and with the drag and drop method.
