By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the main features of the Windows desktop, including the Start screen, tiles, and taskbar.
- Explain the function of the Start button and how tiles differ from traditional desktop icons.
- Describe the purpose of taskbar buttons and how they indicate open or running applications.
- Demonstrate how to preview a window by hovering the mouse pointer over a taskbar button (thumbnail preview and temporal peeking).
- Use the taskbar to switch between open windows and explain which applications are active.
