Learning Objectives
Indicator: B7.1.1.1.1 - Discuss the fourth-generation computers
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- State at least three features of fourth-generation computers (e.g., use of microprocessors, very large-scale integration, personal computers).
- Identify a microchip by its appearance and explain that it is the “brain” of a computer.
- Describe the basic architecture of a processor using simple terms (control unit, arithmetic/logic unit, registers).
- Give at least two examples of fourth-generation computers and how they differ from earlier computers.
- Explain why the invention of the microprocessor made computers smaller, faster and cheaper.
