Learning Objectives
Indicator: B7.3.2.1.3 - Demonstrate how to care for and maintain cutting and shaping tools used for production
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- State at least three reasons why cutting and shaping tools must be cleaned and maintained regularly.
- Identify the correct cleaning agents for tools made from different materials, such as stainless steel, carbon steel and wood.
- Demonstrate the step-by-step procedure for cleaning, oiling and storing at least two cutting or shaping tools correctly.
- Explain the difference between daily maintenance and periodic maintenance of tools.
- Apply the correct safety precautions when cleaning and maintaining cutting and shaping tools.
