Learning Objectives
Indicator: B7.3.1.1.2 - Demonstrate how to care for and maintain measuring and marking out tools and equipment used for production
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Explain why measuring and marking out tools require regular care and maintenance, giving at least two reasons linked to accuracy and tool lifespan.
- Identify the correct cleaning agents and materials for tools made from different materials (e.g., Silvo for silver, Brasso for brass, oil for steel, cloth for dusting).
- Demonstrate step-by-step procedures for cleaning, oiling, and storing at least three different measuring and marking out tools.
- Share experiences from home on how tools and equipment are cared for, and relate these to classroom practices.
