Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.1.3.1.1 - Discuss the factors of environmental health

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Explain what environmental health means in their own words using at least two examples from their surroundings.
  2. Identify at least three factors (pillars) of environmental health, namely disease control, clean water, and sanitation and hygiene, and give one example of each.
  3. Classify different causes of environmental health problems into air, water, soil pollution or chemical exposures.
  4. Describe at least two consequences of poor environmental health on human well-being, such as cholera, typhoid, dysentery or hepatitis A.
  5. Work in groups to present findings on environmental health causes and consequences, using clear ordering of ideas.
