Learning Objectives
Indicator: B7.3.2.1.1 - Identify the major steps that enhance the comprehension of a given text.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- List the four major steps to enhance comprehension of a given Arabic text: breaking up the reading into smaller sections, deducing meaning from context, checking vocabulary, and looking for the main idea.
- Apply the step of breaking a text into smaller sections by dividing a short Arabic passage about the school environment into meaningful parts.
- Use context clues to deduce the meaning of unfamiliar Arabic words and phrases in the passage مدرسة نظيفة.
- Identify and explain the main idea of the school passage after applying the comprehension steps.
- Work in pairs and groups to read, discuss, and demonstrate the comprehension steps using the given passage.
