Learning Objectives
Indicator: B7.3.1.2.3 - Demonstrate ability to pronounce Arabic words having complex sound permutations.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and pronounce pairs of Arabic consonants that share similar articulation points, such as ح / خ, س / ص, ذ / ز, ذ / ظ, أ / ع, ح / ع, ك / ق, and د / ض, with correct differentiation.
- Read aloud words containing contrasting consonant pairs with accurate pronunciation, distinguishing between the similar sounds in each pair.
- Pronounce words containing the shadda sign ( ّ ) with the correct prolonged or doubled consonant sound.
- Explain, in clear order, the difference between two similar-sounding Arabic consonants, giving at least one example word for each.
- Apply the rules of complex sound combinations when reading new or unfamiliar Arabic words containing the target consonant pairs and shadda.
