Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.3.1.1.2 - Demonstrate the ability to reproduce the appropriate sounds of the vowelized consonants.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify the three primary Arabic vowels (fatha, kasra, damma) when they appear above or below consonants.
Reproduce the correct sound of each consonant when combined with fatha (a), kasra (i), and damma (u).
Read aloud at least 10 vowelized consonants from the exemplar list with accurate pronunciation.
Distinguish between the short vowel sounds in pairs such as بَ (ba), بِ (bi), and بُ (bu) when heard or spoken.
Combine vowelized consonants into two-syllable sound sequences such as سَقَ (saqa) and قَطَ (qata).
