Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.3.1.1.1 - Show preliminary reading skill in producing the various Arabic syllables.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify and pronounce the Arabic syllables قَا (qaa), كَا (kaa), and بَان (baan) with correct articulation.
Combine two or three Arabic syllables to read two-syllable words such as قَامَ (qaama) and كَاتِب (kaatib).
Read simple Arabic phrases containing the target syllables, such as سَيَّارَةُ أَبِي (my father’s car), with acceptable accuracy.
Distinguish between syllable structures where a consonant carries a vowel (e.g., مَ) and where it does not (e.g., مْ).
Work in pairs to practise reading syllables aloud and give one another simple feedback on pronunciation.
