Learning Objectives
Indicator: B7.1.1.2.3 - Show awareness of the differences in intonation between a question and a statement.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Distinguish between the rising intonation of a question and the falling intonation of a statement when listening to short Arabic utterances.
- Identify whether a heard sentence is a question or a statement based on its intonation pattern alone.
- Produce the correct rising intonation for simple Arabic questions related to domestic animals, birds, and insects.
- Produce the correct falling intonation for simple Arabic statements related to domestic animals, birds, and insects.
- Respond appropriately to questions heard with question intonation, using statement intonation in their answers.
