Learning Objectives
Indicator: B6.4.6.4.7 - Discuss with learners the capabilities of the various body types (mesomorph and ectomorph).
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Describe the physical characteristics of mesomorph and ectomorph body types using their own words.
- Identify at least two sporting activities or physical tasks that suit mesomorphs and at least two that suit ectomorphs.
- Compare the capabilities of mesomorphs and ectomorphs in a class discussion, giving reasons for their views.
- Draw a simple figure of either a mesomorph or an ectomorph and label its key features.
- Recognise that body type does not limit a person’s potential and that training, diet and effort also matter.
