Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.4.4.4.5 - Identify ways to minimise injuries when using PE equipment.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. State at least five safety rules for using common PE equipment such as balls, ropes, bats, and hoops.
  2. Demonstrate correct procedures for throwing, catching, and retrieving equipment during group activities.
  3. Explain why maintaining ample space between peers reduces the risk of injury during PE lessons.
  4. Develop a short list of class guidelines for safe equipment use and display it in the PE corner.
  5. Respond appropriately to teacher signals for starting, stopping, and retrieving equipment during practical sessions.
