Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.3.4.3.4 - Perform trunk rotation.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Demonstrate the correct starting position for trunk rotation with the right leg straight and left leg bent and crossed over the right knee
  • Perform trunk rotation to the right side, turning as far as their ability level allows
  • Perform trunk rotation to the left side for balanced, holistic development
  • Identify the muscles involved in trunk rotation, specifically the core and oblique muscles
  • Explain how regular trunk rotation improves flexibility and supports overall physical fitness

After warm ups, learners sit with their right leg straight, left leg bent and crossed over the right knee. Learners keep left hand on the floor and turn their trunks as far as possible to the right but at their ability level. Learners repeat the action to the left for holistic development.
