Lesson notes

Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.1.2.1.2 - Jump for distance, landing on both feet and bending the hips, knees, and ankles to reduce the impact force.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Demonstrate a correct approach run of 5 to 7 steps, maintaining a steady rhythm before the take-off point.
  2. Perform a single-foot take-off from a marked board, pushing off with their stronger (comfortable) foot.
  3. Land on both feet simultaneously, bending the hips, knees, and ankles to absorb the force of landing.
  4. Measure and record their own jump distances using a tape measure or marked grid.
  5. Observe and give one piece of helpful feedback to a partner about their landing technique.
