Indicator: B6.1.2.1.1 - Explain problems associated with adolescence

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. List at least five physical, emotional and social changes that occur during adolescence.
  2. Identify and explain at least four problems or challenges associated with adolescence.
  3. Use a Future’s Wheel to show the possible outcomes of risky behaviours such as engaging in sexual activity, drug use and negative peer pressure.
  4. Discuss how problems such as teenage pregnancy, streetism, poverty and criminal activity can affect a young person’s life and future.
  5. Demonstrate respect and empathy when discussing sensitive issues related to adolescence.
