Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.4.1.2.1 - Faire oralement des calculs mentaux simples

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Say and recognise number words from 1 to 100 in French (un, deux, trois, … soixante-dix, quatre-vingts, cent) with correct pronunciation.
  2. Perform simple oral addition and subtraction calculations (totals up to 100) entirely in French, responding quickly and accurately.
  3. Ask and answer simple oral arithmetic questions using complete French sentences, such as “Combien font sept et huit?” and “Ça fait quinze.”
  4. Solve simple oral word problems set in everyday situations, giving the answer in a full French sentence.
  5. Use the French expressions “Combien font…?”, “Ça fait…”, “plus”, “moins”, “égal” correctly during pair and group mental maths games.
