Lesson notes
Learning Objectives
Indicator: B6.2.2.3.1 - Lire et comprendre un texte, un dépliant, sur l’école et ses activités.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Read aloud a short French text or brochure about a school with correct pronunciation and intonation.
- Identify at least five key vocabulary words related to school activities (e.g., la bibliothèque, la cantine, la récréation, le sport, le club) from a reading passage.
- Answer comprehension questions in French or English (as directed by the teacher) based on a simple text about a school.
- Match French sentences about school activities to the correct pictures or descriptions.
- Use context clues to guess the meaning of unfamiliar words in a short text about a school.
This lesson builds directly on learners’ oral and listening work from Term 1 (B6.2.2.1.1 and B6.2.2.2.1), where they discussed school activities verbally. It introduces reading and written comprehension, and prepares learners for Term 2, Week 2 (B6.2.2.4.1), where they will create their own slogans and brochures.
