Indicator: B6.5.8.1.1 - Identify and use conjunctions - so that, when, while, if etc. to: Show purpose Express time Express condition

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify conjunctions such as so that, when, while, if, unless, and others in given sentences and sort them by their function (purpose, time, or condition).
  2. Explain the meaning of each type of conjunction: purpose (so that), time (when, while), and condition (if, unless).
  3. Complete sentences using the correct conjunction to show purpose, time, or condition.
  4. Write a short story of at least six sentences, linking ideas with conjunctions to show purpose, time, and condition.
  5. Peer-edit a partner’s story to check for correct and appropriate use of conjunctions.
