Writing as a Process

Learning Objectives
Indicator: B6.4.9.1.1 - Select a topic of choice on a national issue or from different learning areas, brainstorm ideas and organize them before writing
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Select a suitable topic on a national issue or from another learning area (such as Science, Social Studies, or Religious and Moral Education) that interests them.
- Brainstorm and list at least eight to ten ideas related to their chosen topic with a partner.
- Sort their brainstormed ideas into categories (for example, causes, effects, solutions) using a simple chart or graphic organiser.
- Create a clear writing plan, using an outline or line diagram, that arranges their main ideas in the order they will write about them.
- Present and explain their writing plan to a partner, justifying why they grouped or ordered their ideas in that way.
