Indicator: B6.3.5.1.7 - Use the imperative form of verb to give warning and express prohibitions
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the imperative form of verbs in given sentences and explain what makes them imperative.
- Construct imperative sentences that give warnings, using the structure “verb + object + consequence” (e.g., “Cross the road quickly, and you will be safe”).
- Construct imperative sentences that express prohibitions, using words like “do not,” “never,” and “must not.”
- Differentiate between imperative sentences that give warnings and those that express prohibitions.
- Apply imperative verbs appropriately in short written dialogues and signs, demonstrating correct punctuation and structure.
