By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the articles “a”, “an” and “the” in given sentences and passages.
- Explain the difference between definite and indefinite articles in simple terms.
- Choose correctly between “a” and “an” based on the sound of the word that follows.
- Use “a”, “an” and “the” correctly in their own written sentences.
- Underline articles in sentences and state whether each is definite or indefinite.

- Briefly revise nouns. Learners read/listen to a passage having several nouns. - Have them identify the nouns stating their types. - Learners identify the nouns noting words that precede them e. g. the, an - Select sentences containing nouns and articles and use them to explain the use of the articles "a", "an" and "the" simply. - In groups, learners write sentences and underline the articles.
