Indicator: B6.2.10.1.1 - Summarise level-appropriate passages/text orally

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify the most important ideas in a sentence and restate them in their own words.
Identify the main ideas in a short paragraph of 3 to 5 sentences.
Orally summarise a short passage of up to one paragraph using their own words.
Answer guiding questions such as “What did you learn from this text?” to help them capture the key message.
Distinguish between important ideas and supporting details when listening to or reading a text.

E.g. Sentence: This is the boy who killed the snake. Summary: The boy killed the snake.
- Lead learners with questions to do this.
E.g. What did you learn from this text?
