  • Identify the main idea of each paragraph or section of a level-appropriate text
  • Arrange the main ideas of a text in the correct chronological or logical order
  • Use the SQ3R strategy (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) to process a text systematically
  • Recall and retell the main ideas of a passage in sequence using their own words
  • Create a simple numbered sequence of main ideas from a short passage
