Learning Objectives
Indicator: B6.1.10.2.2 - Read aloud clearly, at a good pace and with expression
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Read a short familiar text aloud with clear pronunciation and at a steady pace that is neither too fast nor too slow.
- Use their voice to show feeling and meaning, such as excitement, sadness, surprise or questioning, when reading aloud.
- Identify when a classmate reads with good pace and expression and when they do not, and give simple reasons for their judgement.
- Work in a group to prepare and read aloud a short speech on a given topic, paying attention to clarity, pace and expression.

- Give a model reading by reading a short texts aloud. - Have pupils read aloud in pairs and in small groups. - Let them write and read out short speeches on given topics in groups. Groups may read out their speeches to the class.
