Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.1.7.1.6 - Identify the problems and solutions in texts

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Listen attentively to a story or informational text and identify the main problem or problems presented in it.
  • State the cause of a problem and the effect it produces in a text they have listened to.
  • Identify the solution or solutions proposed or applied to resolve the problem in a text.
  • Explain the relationship between problem and solution using simple sentence frames such as “The problem was… and the solution was…”
  • Answer questions that require them to recall events, analyse causes and effects, and describe how problems were resolved.
