Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.1.7.1.5 - Express own opinions about the details of texts

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. State at least two details from a story or text heard and give a personal opinion about each detail.
  2. Use sentence frames such as “I think that…”, “In my opinion…”, and “I agree because…” to express their views on details from a text.
  3. Distinguish between a fact (something that happened in the text) and an opinion (what someone thinks about that fact).
  4. Listen to a partner’s opinion about a text detail and respond with agreement or disagreement, giving a reason.
  5. Share their own opinions about details of a story in a group discussion, using at least one piece of evidence from the text to support their view.
