Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.1.7.1.1 - Employ Think Aloud and visualisation strategies to make meaning from level-appropriate texts

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • State in their own words what the Think Aloud strategy is and when to use it while listening.
  • Describe the mental pictures they form while listening to a teacher-read text.
  • Apply the Think Aloud strategy by verbalising their thoughts, questions, and predictions at pauses during a listening text.
  • Use visualisation to create a simple drawing or oral description of a scene from a text they have heard.
  • Compare the mental images they formed with those of a partner and explain one reason for any difference.
