Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.1.4.1.2 - Tell stories around given themes

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify the main theme of a short story told by the teacher, choosing from options such as love, honesty, patriotism, hard work, or kindness.
  2. Explain in their own words what a theme is and give at least one example of a common theme in storytelling.
  3. Brainstorm and list at least three vocabulary words or phrases that connect to a given theme before telling their story.
  4. Tell a short story (about 1 to 2 minutes) based on a given theme, using at least two vocabulary words that match the theme.
  5. Listen to a classmate’s story and name the theme they heard, giving one reason for their choice.
