Learning Objectives
Indicator: B6.2.2.3.1 - Create own performing artworks based on own views, knowledge and understanding of the techniques and styles of some international performing artists studied
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and describe at least one signature technique or style of an international performing artist previously studied (such as Michael Jackson’s moonwalk, Maya Angelou’s rhythmic spoken word, or Bob Marley’s reggae beat).
- Brainstorm and present a concept for their own short performing artwork that deliberately draws on the technique or style of a chosen international artist.
- Compose and rehearse a short original performance piece (dance, drama, poem, or song) using the chosen artist’s style combined with their own ideas and local materials.
- Perform their composed piece for peers and explain how their work reflects the international artist’s influence.
- Give and receive constructive feedback through structured peer review, using agreed criteria.
