Thinking and Exploring Ideas
Lesson notes
Learning Objectives
Indicator: B6.1.1.1.4 - Generate own ideas for designing and creating own visual artworks based on the physical and social environments of some communities in the world
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least three physical features and three social features of a chosen community in the world from pictures or videos.
- Create a spidergram that organises objects and ideas drawn from the physical and social environment of a chosen community.
- Select one object or idea from the spidergram that they find interesting and explain what artwork they would like to make from it.
- Transform their selected idea into at least two thumbnail sketches showing possible compositions for an artwork.
- Present and share their spidergram and thumbnail sketches with a partner or small group, giving and receiving one piece of feedback.
Note: Learners have already studied international artists and their artworks in Weeks 1 and 2. This week, they move from studying to generating their own ideas. The focus is on thinking and planning, not on producing a finished, polished artwork.
