Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.5.1.1.5 - Describe the basics of Relational Data model.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Explain what a relational data model is and why it is one of the most common ways to store data.
  2. Identify rows and columns in a table and describe what each represents.
  3. Define the terms “field”, “record” and “table” using examples from everyday life.
  4. Create a simple relational data table from a given set of data.
  5. Distinguish between a row (record) and a column (field) when looking at any data table.
