Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.1.3.1.6 - Demonstrate how to collect data (e.g. listening to radio, reading newspapers, interviews use of questionnaires etc.)

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Explain the meaning of data collection and give at least two examples from their daily lives.
  2. Identify and describe at least four different methods of collecting data, including questionnaires, interviews, observation, and document review.
  3. Design a simple questionnaire with three to five questions to collect data on a chosen topic in their community.
  4. Conduct a short interview or use a questionnaire to collect data from at least five people, and record their findings accurately.
  5. Work collaboratively in groups to gather data, respecting the views and responses of the people they collect data from.
