Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.1.3.1.2 - Identify more sources of data and information e.g. internet (emailing, Skype, SMS etc.)

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Name at least four sources of data and information beyond their school textbooks, including the internet, email, Skype, SMS, radio, and newspapers.
  2. Explain in their own words how email, Skype and SMS are used to send and receive data and information.
  3. Match each type of information (news, personal message, video call, weather report) to its most appropriate source.
  4. State one advantage and one limitation of using the internet as a source of data.
  5. Sort a given list of data sources into traditional (offline) and modern (online) categories.
