Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.1.1.1.2 - Identify components of a Computer System: Hardware, Software and Liveware.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define the three main components of a computer system: hardware, software and liveware, in their own words.
  2. Group common computer parts into hardware (input, output, storage and communication) and software categories.
  3. Give at least two examples of input, output, storage and communication hardware devices.
  4. Explain, at definition level, how hardware, software and liveware work together to make a computer function.
  5. Identify the liveware (people) in everyday computer use, including themselves in the school computer lab.
