Learning Objectives
Indicator: B5.3.4.3.4 - Perform standing bend and reach the knee with the forehead.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Demonstrate the correct starting position for the standing bend and reach the knee with the forehead exercise, with feet shoulder-width apart and arms by the sides.
- Perform a controlled forward bend, tilting the torso towards one side until the forehead reaches the knee on the same side.
- Repeat the standing bend and reach the knee movement on both the left and right sides of the body.
- Work safely in pairs, providing support to a partner while they perform the bend and reach exercise.
- Explain at least one benefit of flexibility exercises for their overall physical fitness and health.

Exemplars (from the NaCCA curriculum)
Learners go through warm-up. Learners stand straight shoulder with apart. Arms by their sides tilt to one side of their body till the hand reaches the knees. Same should be done to the other side. Let them perform in pairs so that as one performs the other gives support.
