Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.1.5.1.5 - Change direction quickly whiles walking with an object within obstacles but keep one’s balance.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Demonstrate walking with a lime on a spoon while changing direction safely around obstacles without dropping the lime.
  2. Maintain balance while moving through a designated obstacle course at a steady pace.
  3. Apply quick direction changes (left, right, and around) while carrying an object, keeping their eyes focused ahead.
  4. Work cooperatively in small groups to complete a relay-style obstacle challenge while following rules of fairness and safety.
  5. Describe in their own words why balance and control are important when moving with an object through obstacles.

After general and specific warm ups, learners hold lime and spoon. Learners move on command through the obstacles whiles maintaining their balance and individuals in turns at their own pace. Put learners in groups to compute compete.
