Indicator: B5.1.5.1.4
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Explain what a base of support is and how body weight can be distributed to maintain balance.
- Perform a simple paired balance stunt by standing on tiptoe while holding onto a partner for support.
- Hold a tiptoe balance position with a partner for at least 10 seconds without losing balance.
- Work cooperatively in small groups to create one balance stunt of their own using a wide or narrow base of support.
- Describe how balance helps them in everyday physical activities such as walking, carrying loads, or playing games.

Exemplars (from the NaCCA curriculum)
Learner stands straight and hold on to another person. Stand slowly on tip toe and move as high as possible and distribute body weight on toes. Organise competition for learners and use time declare winners base on how long a member of the group loses a balance. End the lesson with cool down and use questions to summarise the lesson.
