Learning Objectives
Indicator: B5.4.1.2.1 - Discuss the importance of being a responsible citizen in the nation
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Describe at least four attitudes and behaviours that show a person is a responsible citizen, such as obeying rules, respecting others, and performing assigned duties.
- Explain at least three reasons why being a responsible citizen is important for the nation, including promoting unity, gaining respect, and being seen as reliable.
- Role-play a scenario showing responsible citizenship and explain how the actions in the scenario help the nation.
- Identify and talk about at least two concrete things they can do now, as learners, to help Ghana develop.

Learners describe attitudes and behaviours that show that a person is responsible e.g. obedience to rules and regulations, respect others, accepting responsibility (performing assigned duties), taking initiatives, helping needy people. Learners discuss the importance of being a responsible citizen e.g. to promote unity, to gain respect, to be considered a reliable person, etc. Learners role-play activities of responsible citizens. Learners identify and talk about what they can do to help the country to develop.
