Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.3.4.1.1 - Describe the key events in the Ministry of the leaders of the three religions

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify and describe at least three key events in the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ, such as His baptism, temptation, and call of the disciples.
  2. Identify and describe at least three key events in the ministry of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.), such as His call to prophethood and triumphant entry into Makkah.
  3. Describe the training and teaching roles of a Traditional Religious Leader in the Ghanaian community.
  4. Role-play or dramatise a key event from the ministry of one of the three religious leaders, showing the values of obedience, commitment, patience, and sacrifice.
  5. Explain how the values demonstrated by these religious leaders can be applied in their own lives as young leaders.

Exemplars (from the NaCCA curriculum)

Learners describe the key events associated with the ministry of the leaders of the three main religions:
i. The Lord Jesus Christ-Baptism, temptation, call of the disciples, teaching, etc.
ii. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) -call, triumphant entry to Makkah etc.
iii. Traditional Leader-training, teaching, etc.
In groups, learners role-play some aspects of the Ministry of:
a. The Lord Jesus Christ
b. The Holy Prophet Muhammad
c. A Traditional Religious Leader
Learners in groups to identify the significant roles by the religious leaders their ministries: obedience; commitment; patience, leadership, sacrifice etc.
In groups, learners dramatise portions of the scripture that depict moral lessons, e.g. submissiveness, humility, loyalty, etc., and how they can emulate such values as individuals.
