Learning Objectives
Indicator: B5.3.2.1.1 - Describe various celebrations in Ghana
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and name at least five different types of celebrations that take place in Ghana, including festivals, birthday celebrations, naming ceremonies and national days.
- Explain at least three reasons why celebrations are important in Ghanaian communities, such as promoting unity, forgiveness and generosity.
- Describe the key activities that take place during a chosen celebration, including sharing food, wearing traditional cloth and reconciling with family and friends.
- Participate in a role play of a Ghanaian celebration, demonstrating at least two important values such as brotherliness or appreciation.
- Write a short essay of about five sentences describing one celebration and why it matters to the people who observe it.
