Learning Objectives
Indicator: B5.4.1.4.1 - Faire des calculs simples à l’écrit avec des chiffres en lettres
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Write the four basic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in French words, using the correct vocabulary: plus, moins, divisés par, fois.
- Write number words in French correctly for numbers up to thirty (vingt, vingt-deux, vingt-neuf, quatorze, etc.) when completing written calculations.
- Solve simple written arithmetic problems where both the numbers and the operators are written in French words, and write the answer in words.
- Complete written sentences following the model “douze plus cinq égalent dix-sept” using the correct verb form (égalent or font).
- Create two original written calculations in French words and challenge a partner to solve them, building on the oral mental calculations practised in Week 7.
