Lesson notes
Learning Objectives
Indicator: B5.2.2.1.1 - Écouter/Regarder et comprendre un document audio-visuel sur l’environnement de l’école
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least five places or objects in the school environment mentioned in an audio-visual document (e.g., la salle de classe, la bibliothèque, le terrain de jeu, la cour, les toilettes).
- Match spoken descriptions of the school environment to the correct pictures shown in the video or document.
- Respond to simple comprehension questions in French about what they have seen and heard (e.g., “Où sont les élèves?” “Qu’est-ce qu’il y a dans la cour?”)
- State whether a statement about the school environment is vrai (true) or faux (false) after listening, using thumbs up or thumbs down.
- Retell in one or two short French sentences what happens in the school environment they watched, using prompts from the teacher.
This lesson opens the Term 2 topic “Parler de son école.” It focuses only on listening and viewing comprehension. Learners will practise asking and answering questions about the school in the next slot (B5.2.2.2.1), so this lesson stops at understanding and responding briefly.
