Lesson notes
Learning Objectives
Indicator: B5.2.1.2.2 - Réciter des poèmes, chanter des chansons sur des objets, des animaux, des fruits, etc.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Recite a short French poem about objects or animals of the house with correct pronunciation and rhythm
- Sing a French song about fruits or animals with appropriate melody and expression
- Identify and name at least 8 objects, animals, or fruits in French from the poem and song
- Memorise and perform a poem or song of at least 4 lines before the class
- Create a simple variation of the poem by substituting one or two words (e.g. replacing “la pomme” with “la mangue”)
This lesson builds directly on Week 10 (B5.2.1.1.1), where learners listened to and understood audio-visual documents on rooms, house objects and domestic animals, and Week 11 (B5.2.1.2.1), where they asked and answered questions about these items. It prepares learners for describing rooms (B5.2.1.4.1) and objects (B5.2.1.4.2) in Week 12 by giving them ready-made, memorable language patterns.
