Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.6.1.1.1 - Read a variety of age- and level appropriate books and present at least a-three-paragraph summary of each book read

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Select an age- and level-appropriate book of their choice from the class library or their personal collection.
  2. Read independently for at least 20 minutes during the library period and track their reading progress.
  3. Write a three-paragraph summary of the book read, covering the beginning, middle, and end of the story.
  4. Present their summary orally to the class with clarity and confidence.
  5. Give and receive constructive feedback on summaries using a simple peer feedback checklist.
