Indicator: B5.5.3.1.1 - Identify and use nouns or noun phrases to refer to quantities or units.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define a noun phrase that refers to a quantity or unit (for example, “a piece of paper”, “a pair of shoes”).
- Identify quantity and unit nouns in given sentences and short passages.
- Match common nouns with the correct unit or quantity words (a loaf of bread, a bottle of water, a packet of sugar).
- Use noun phrases with quantity and unit words correctly in their own sentences.
- Apply unit nouns and quantity words appropriately in a short classroom dialogue or written paragraph.
