Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.4.11.1.2

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify and name the key features of an imaginative narrative story: title, characters, setting, plot, conflict, and dialogue.
  2. Plan a short imaginative story by deciding on characters, a conflict, a setting, and an outline of events.
  3. Write a first draft of an imaginative story of at least one paragraph that includes a clear beginning, middle, and end.
  4. Revise and edit their own draft to improve word choice, correct punctuation, and ensure the story makes sense.
  5. Publish a final version of their story in neat handwriting, with a title and clear paragraphs.

Note: Stories have people (characters) who face a problem (conflict) in a particular place and time (setting). They show what people do (action) and say (dialogue) to resolve the problem.
