Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.4.11.1.1 - Write freely on topics of choice on issues in the community

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Name and explain the five stages of the writing process: planning, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing.
  2. Brainstorm at least three issues in their community that they care about and choose one to write about.
  3. Produce a free writing piece of at least one paragraph on a self-selected community issue, following the stages of the writing process.
  4. Revise and edit their own drafts with support from a peer, checking for clarity, spelling, and punctuation.
  5. Publish their final work by presenting it on the class notice board or reading it aloud to the class.
