By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Turn organised ideas from their community topic into a two-paragraph draft without stopping to fix spelling, punctuation or grammar.
- Use at least three linking words such as firstly, then, after, next and finally to connect sentences within a paragraph.
- Use a linking phrase at the start of the second paragraph (e.g. after that, in addition, later) to show the relationship between the two paragraphs.
- Read their own draft aloud to check that the flow of ideas is clear and not confusing to a listener.
- Identify where a linking word is missing in a sample paragraph and suggest an appropriate one to improve cohesion.
